Club Director Tyler Lewis

With a coaching journey spanning back to 2007, I have dedicated over 15 years to the development and success of basketball teams at the 6A school level. My coaching philosophy is a blend of passion, versatility, and a deep commitment to both individual player growth and team success.

Reflecting on the coaching journey, what stands out is not the records or points scored, but the lasting impact on players’ lives. Many former players recall not just the game strategies but how I made them feel – an approach aimed at making them better players and, more importantly, better individuals.

Performance-wise, I take pride in a highly successful overall record and the privilege of being part of coaching staffs that have clinched multiple state tournaments. Witnessing former players ascend to high-level college and professional basketball is not just a testament to their skills but also a reflection of the values instilled during our time together.

My coaching style is a dynamic mix of laid-back and intense, always seizing opportunities to impart life lessons while emphasizing fundamental skills and expanding players’ basketball IQ. I have a educational background, so I approach coaching with the lens of creating scaffolded learning opportunities, tailoring drills to support player development effectively.

The core values of my coaching philosophy are rooted in development, character, accountability, and integrity. Beyond the court, I place significant emphasis on fostering relationships. The friendships I have formed with coaches and players, now extending beyond the confines of the game, are cherished aspects of my coaching journey.

In creating a successful program, I integrate team bonding opportunities early on, emphasizing that the team belongs to the players, with my role being to guide and support them in building it to its fullest potential.
