January 2021

Wisdom from J. Mills

2020 taught us a lot, but one of the most valuable lessons learned in the fitness industry is just how important regular exercise is to our physical and mental health. As Courthouse has made the decision to defy government orders and keep our doors open, our members have overwhelmed us with stories of how their Courthouse membership has been critical to their overall well-being.

Throughout the years, many Courthouse trainers have ended a session with the phrase “it’s a blessing to move.” As we realign our focus in January as an organization and as individuals, this message is more important than ever. We have spent the past year fighting for this very right to exercise in our own health club. Don’t take your regular exercise routine for granted. It might just save your life one day!

I am 94 years old attribute a lot of my extra energy to the Courthouse and the classes I enjoy. I need to continue visiting the Courthouse for my physical and emotional therapy. I would not be here if it wasn’t for my regular workouts.

Exercise is an essential part of life to maintain a healthy weight, heart, lungs, joints, and muscles! It also helps with mental health and is a fun social outlet. Thank you for staying open!

Last spring I had unbelievable pain and no treatment helped. When I found out that Courthouse reopened in June, I joined that day. I visited nearly every day for 8 weeks doing the exercises I knew needed to be done in water.  I August I had a hip replacement and 4 weeks later, I returned to the water. The therapy pool has been a lifesaver for me and I know it has helped with my recovery.
