Developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s, Pilates is a full body and mind workout centered on abdominal strength. In the classical work of Pilates, all of the movement in our bodies is done from that balanced proximal core connection. It is from this connection that the body will be able to release tightness and chronic weakness, and eventually allow the body to return to a state of balance.
At Courthouse Pilates, we believe in training bodies to strengthen and heal themselves. Our facility features state of the art Classical Pilates reformers and equipment in a light and inviting space, and our trainers receive continuing education through Power Pilates of NYC.

Our Class Formats
The Reformer is one of the apparatus designed by Joseph Pilates with springs and pulleys that help support the client to make a safe and deeper connection to the abdominals. Reformer Pilates introduces and teaches the classical foundation of the reformer, and develops the four “S’s” of Physical Training – Strength, Stability, Stamina, and Stretch. No previous experience is necessary, and it is appropriate for anyone who is able to move freely.
The mat workout follows the order of exercises Joseph Pilates created on the floor for his clients. It appropriately warms up the body, challenges and cools the body down. The mat workout strengthens and stretches the torso, arms and legs and can be safely taught at a foundation/beginner level and progressed to challenge the elite athlete. It is designed to create a strong connection to the abdominals as well as strengthen and stretch the entire body.
We offer private sessions (1:1), semi private sessions (2-3:1), or group sessions (up to 6). All sessions are 45 minutes long.
