PREVENTATIVE CARE

Most healthcare dollars in America are spent after people are already sick. Meanwhile, the tools that actually keep people healthy, like exercise, sleep, nutrition, and recovery, are treated as luxuries, not medicine.

Courthouse Club Fitness is partnering with TrueMed to deliver simple and fun fitness to our community to help keep us happy and healthy.

HOW IT WORKS

STEP 1:

COMPLETE A HEALTH ASSESSMENT VIA TRUEMED

Visit the TrueMed qualification page and complete a brief survey about your health, medical, and family history. The survey is reviewed by a licensed practitioner and no in-person appointment is needed. There is a $20 fee at the end of the survey. Once approved, TrueMed will send you a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN).

STEP 2:

PURCHASE COURTHOUSE MEMBERSHIP OR SERVICE

After receiving your Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) by email, purchase eligible Courthouse services within 12 months of receiving your LMN. Purchases must be made with a non-HSA/FSA form of payment and reimbursed later.

STEP 3:

SUBMIT FOR
REIMBURSEMENT

Follow the instructions included with your LMN to submit your eligible membership or training fees to your HSA or FSA administrator for reimbursement. Save your LMN and receipts together, as your administrator may request both.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS AN HSA/FSA?

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are tax-free accounts used to pay for qualified health expenses. Because the funds are pre-tax, your dollars go further. Rather than paying taxes on your income and then spending it, qualified members can use those pre-tax funds to invest in their health.

CAN I USE MY HSA/FSA CARD?

Not quite. You’ll pay for your membership or training with a regular form of payment, then submit your receipt along with your Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) to your HSA or FSA administrator for reimbursement. TrueMed will walk you through that process once your LMN is issued.

WHAT IS TRUEMED?

TrueMed is a platform that helps qualified individuals use their HSA or FSA funds on health and wellness purchases, including gym memberships and fitness services. Through a short online health intake survey reviewed by a licensed practitioner, TrueMed determines whether your purchase qualifies as medically necessary. If approved, you receive a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) that you can use to submit eligible Courthouse membership or training fees to your HSA or FSA administrator for reimbursement.

WILL I QUALIFY?

There are no guarantees, but thousands of studies support the wide range of health benefits of exercise. When completing your survey, be honest and thorough so the practitioner has enough information to make a proper determination.

WHAT IF I ONLY HAVE PARTIAL FUNDS IN MY HSA OR FSA?

Payment is made directly to Courthouse as usual. From there, you request reimbursement through TrueMed for whatever eligible amount is in your account. For example, if you have $60 in your account and your monthly fee is $100, you would pay Courthouse the full $100 and request the $60 back through TrueMed. We are not part of that transaction.

WHAT IF MY REIMBURSEMENT IS REJECTED?

Contact Truemed’s support team at support@truemed.com. Many issues can be resolved quickly, sometimes simply by reissuing your LMN using your administrator’s preferred form.

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE AN HSA OR FSA YET?

For most people, open enrollment happens in the fall. You can elect to start or increase contributions at that time and begin submitting for reimbursement starting January 1st. Talk to your HR department to learn more about your options.

WHERE DO I FIND RECEIPTS FOR REIMBURSEMENT?

To find your receipts:
1. Open the Courthouse app
2. Tap your profile photo in the top left
3. Select Payment History
