Do I have to wait for a new session for my child to begin lessons?
No. Our classes run on a monthly basis rather than by session and new swimmers may start at any point throughout the month. If you start mid-month, you will pay a prorated amount for the month you start lessons.
How do I know what level my child should start with?
Our deck coordinators will assess your child at their first lesson and place them in the appropriate level. Swim America places swimmers by ability, not by age.
How do we drop our lessons?
You may drop your monthly lesson at any time by submitting the following online form. Please note that if you choose to re-start your lessons, you will be reassessed the $25 enrollment fee. If you need a short-term break, we offer a hold on lessons for a nominal fee.
Why does Courthouse Swim follow Swim America guidelines?
We feel Swim America does an excellent job empowering swimmers to progress at their own pace. If our swimmers pass all the requirements of a level mid-class, we want to move them to the next level right away so they can continue to improve. In addition, Swim America is designed with the competitive swimmer in mind. We want every student to have the option of pursuing a more competitive environment if they so choose. Our relationship with Swim America allows us to build the foundation for success in competition with our young swimmers.
There are many options for swim in the Salem area. Why should I choose Courthouse for my child?
We strongly believe that our philosophy and partnership with Swim America gives us the edge over all other swim programs in the area. That, paired with an excellent staff, family-friendly schedules, and five convenient locations to choose from, makes Courthouse Swim the right choice for your swimmer.
Why do you promote year round swim lessons at your facility?
We believe in year round swim lessons because children learn to swim and be safe in the water at a much faster pace with consistent swim lessons.
How do I register for lessons?
We ask all swimmers to complete a New Swimmer Evaluation. Once this is completed, we will contact you to finalize the registration process.
What should my child wear and bring to lessons?
Swimmers should wear a swimsuit that does not restrict movement. Infants and toddlers still in diapers must wear a swim diaper. Swimmers will also need a towel and goggles.
Does my child have access to a locker room?
Yes, we provide locker rooms for our swim students and families. Children over four years old must use the locker room of his/her gender. We also offer family dressing rooms at each of our five locations. Swimmers entering the pool must shower and follow posted pool rules and regulations.
What if my child has to miss a lesson?
We do not require that your child be at all of the lessons. Courthouse swim does not refund money for missed lessons.
