Free Event – West Salem Courthouse – August 22nd – 6:30PM

Do you love smooth tunes? How about yoga in the sunshine? We have the event for you: Yoga and Yacht Rock.

On August 22nd, our Courthouse yoga instructors will put on a free yoga session onstage in Wallace Marine Park, just outside of the West Club. The Courthouse team is crafting the perfect yacht rock playlist.

Move to Michael McDonald. Stretch to Steely Dan. Touch your toes with TOTO.

After yoga is over, we will party on the pool deck at West Courthouse. We’ve booked Whiskey Business, the Willamette Valley’s best soft-rock cover band. Enjoy a free show, free beer and wine from Oregon Beverage Service, and food and coffee for purchase.

You can also buy a custom tank top at the event, pictured below. The tank will be available for pre-order soon.

Greg Danese is the Fitness Manager at the Keizer Club

What do you love most about working at Courthouse?

I love how our Courthouse members are very genuine and actually want to get to know you and your story. This level of engagement with our members is unique in the fitness industry.

What do you do to train at Courthouse? What do you enjoy doing to stay active outside of the Club?

I train on my own four days a week at the Club. I also play basketball weekly with a group of guys who all played basketball or football in college, which is an excellent level of competition. We play up in Tualatin, where I have coached basketball in the past.

Tell us about a member (or members) who impacted you.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Jack and Darren, who always work out together at the West Club 4-5 days a week. It was interesting to learn more about the high school basketball world in West Salem, as Jack refs both in-season and summer basketball.

I learned that we actually had a couple of high-end D1 recruits at Courthouse who play for West Salem High School. It was just cool to hear about Jack doing something he is passionate about reffing games as his side passion.

We love our partnership with Impact Jiu Jitsu.

They operate three spaces within our South River Road, Keizer, and Lancaster facilities, including training for adults, teens, and kids. Impact also coaches, trains, and sponsor amateur fighters in multiple genres of combat sports.

Here are just a few impressive finishes for Impact athletes.

On May 11th, Adrian Lion Lopez defended his 170-pound title for the second time at the Full Contact Fighting Federation, securing the champion titles for both the 185-pound and 170-pound categories.

Casey Resch, another Impact fighter won on the undercard that evening as well.

On June 22nd, at the Roll-a-lot III Grappling Tournament, Christian Major won his super fight match with a straight ankle lock. His training partner, Tom Hoisinton, won the super match with a majority decision.

Team Impact took second place overall for kids and adults that day in the tournament standings.

On July 13th, at the FCFF Roseland Theater, Impact Jiu Jitsu’s Hayden Maggard fought to defend his 135-pound title for the 3rd time.

First, thank you for your patience and understanding during last month’s closure. Battle Creek staff was ecstatic to see members return!

We continue to make significant progress on the remodel at Battle Creek. This is a very expansive and intricate project; we are happy to see everyone move on schedule without disruptions. Expect to structural work being done in the lobby

We still expect to complete every project stage in January, 2025.

Ride Room Flooring

Brand new (and beautiful) flooring will be installed in the Ride room, starting on July 11th.

All classes in the Ride Room will be canceled after 6 AM on July 11th through Friday, July 12th.

Courthouse Coffee Coming This Fall

With demolition completed, our partners at Kaufman Construction can soon begin work in the lobby area of the Club.

We expect to have a full Courthouse Coffeebar up and running this Fall.

Courthouse Coffeebar serves a full espresso menu, plus protein smoothies, snacks, and other treats.

We will add seating to the lobby to make the Club the most welcoming and relaxing place possible.

A Blog from our Partners at Carbon Physical Therapy

At Courthouse, we are big fans of variety. We design our class schedule, our training sessions, and special programs to make sure members rarely do the same workout twice.

On a human level, variety through cross training makes coming to the gym a bit easier. There’s always a surprise and members do not fall into a boring routine.

On a physiological level, cross training improves cardiovascular health, reduces the risk of injury, and heightened overall performance.

Carbon Physical Therapy recently set up shop at our South River Road location. They also believe in the value of variety.

Cross training is a versatile training approach that involves engaging in a variety of different physical activities to improve overall fitness, performance, and reduce the risk of injury. It’s particularly popular among athletes, but is also utilized by fitness enthusiasts of all levels.

Battle Creek Reopens

The Battle Creek Courthouse location has reopened after a full closure for about two weeks. Kaufman Construction made significant progress on the major remodel project.

More Work Ahead!

Work will continue until we complete the project in early 2025. We will do our best to disrupt Club classes, training sessions, activities, and spaces as little as possible. We will continue providing updates as the project progresses.

Coffeebar Coming to Battle Creek

Our newest Courthouse Coffeebar will launch at Battle Creek this Fall. The Coffeebar will serve a full espresso menu, hot and iced tea, and protein-packed smoothies.

Summer weather makes everyone look for a sweet, cold treat. Courthouse Coffeebar serves delicious, real-food, gourmet popsicles.

Summer is a busy time at Courthouse. As school lets out, families flock to our outdoor pools, check in together for an indoor workout, or drop by our Coffeebars after a morning at the park. Just like classes and training sessions, we want every aspect of our Club to be simple and fun.

This includes the treats we serve at our Coffeebar.

We partnered with The Hyppo, a gourmet popsicle maker, to give parents a better option for themselves and their kids. We chose Hyppo because of its simple, real-food ingredient list and inventive flavors.

Popsicle-Palooza is June 14-16th, 2024

To kick off the summer, we will sell every flavor of Hyppo popsicles for just $1 at every Courthouse location from June 14th through June 16th.

Flavors include:

  • Sparkling Mango
  • Peanut Butter Pie
  • Orange Pineapple
  • Straight Up Strawberry
  • Watermelon
  • Blackberry
  • Limeade

We are excited for another fantastic summer at Courthouse, which will be full of events, family-friendly programs, swimming, movement, exercise, and fun!

On June 20th, we will be hosting our first major event of the summer: The Club Dance Blacklight Party.

The event will be 100% free for all members and guests. It will feature brand new music, classic songs and moves, and plenty of time for connecting with Club Dancers from all five Courthouse locations. The entire Club Dance instructor crew will rotate throughout the two-hour event.

  • Doors open at 6:00 PM
  • Dancing begins at 6:30 PM
  • Dancing ends at 8:30 PM

The gym at Lancaster will be packed with as many dancers as it can hold. Our friends from Oregon Beverage Services will be giving free drinks, the Courthouse Coffeebar will be open and handing out free Italian soda. Exclusive event gear and food will be available for purchase.

Date Night

To make it easy for parents to join the Club Dance Blacklight Party, Courthouse Date Night will occur simultaneously. Kids Court will be closed so this will be the only childcare available.

  • $25 (first child)
  • $15 (per sibling)
  • Ages 1-12

Date Night access can be purchased beforehand through our easy online portal. Drop-off will start at 6:00 PM and pick-up will begin immediately following the last song.

Date Night will feature supervised games, an inflatable, snacks, and more.

The major construction project at the Battle Creek Courthouse continues. Our trusted partners at Kaufman are doing great work, mostly with demolition efforts in the men’s and women’s locker rooms.

You may hear significant noise in the next few weeks, especially in both group exercise rooms. Demolition work ends each day around 3:00 PM.

Notice to all Battle Creek members. The entire Battle Creek Club location will be closed on June 3rd. We plan to reopen the Club on June 17th.

We will add group classes, swim lessons, and training sessions at the South River Road Club during the closure. The updated schedules will be viewable by May 15th.

The closure will allow the Kaufman crew to make significant progress on demolition, guarantee member safety, and help the project finish on time.

Again, all other Club locations will be open and ready to welcome Battle Creek members during this time and will adapt our class and training sessions to accommodate. We appreciate your patience and understanding. We will continue to provide information and updates on the project as it proceeds.

Thank you!
